  • The purpose of ayurveda is to protect health of the healthy and also to alleviate disorders in the diseased. Ayurveda is a well organized system of health care with, both preventive and curative treatments.
  • According to ayurveda body is composed of 3 components namely, Vata Pitta and Kapha. Each doshahas particular attributes and roles within the body and mind; the natural predominance of one or more doshas thus explains a person's physical constitution (prakriti) and personality. Imbalance in either one or all three bodily humor causes disease (vikruti).
  • Medicine in ayurveda is based on the action and efficacy of the herb on the vitiated dosha, causing the disease in the body.
